ABOUT US:
We bring an authentic French style dining experience to you with delicious traditional Tarte Flambee, whilst also creating a unique and communal atmosphere that you and your guests will love! Your hosts – Margaret and Thomas Koehler.

WHAT WE DO:
With many years in the business of making Tarte Flambee using time honoured cooking techniques we bring the dining experience to you, for your function. Whether it be a Wedding, Christening, Birthday or any other special occasion where the focus is on quality food, friends and family we do all the cooking. Using our portable Wood Fired Oven we will cook traditional, delicious Tarte Flambee using quality ingredients for you and all your guests. There are 2 courses served for your function. One being the delicious savoury style, followed by our mouth watering dessert style Tarte Flambee. Trust us, we make sure that ample food is supplied.

WHAT IS TARTE FLAMBEE?
A traditional French dish, “Tarte Flambee” translates in English to “Pie Baked In The Flames”.
Legend says that the "creators" of this dish were Alemannic-speaking farmers from Alsace, Baden or the Palatinate who used to bake bread once a week or every other week. In fact, the tarte flambée was originally a homemade dish which did not make its urban debut until the "pizza craze" of the 1960s. A tarte flambée would be used to test the heat of their wood-fired ovens. At the peak of its temperature, the oven would also have the ideal conditions in which to bake a tarte flambée. The embers would be pushed aside to make room for the tarte in the middle of the oven, and the intense heat would be able to bake it in 1 or 2 minutes. The crust that forms the border of the tarte flambée would be nearly burned by the flames. The result resembles a thin pizza.
With a flavour twist to your traditional pizza, this is a taste sensation like no other, cooked in the customary way using Quark, Mushrooms, Onion and Cheese for savoury and our delicious dessert version of apple and cinnamon. This style of food promotes the simplicity and importance of communal dining.

All cooking is done by us. You just sit back, relax and enjoy the time with your guests. (Salads and drinks not supplied.)

$20 per head for 50 or more guests
$26 per head for 25 to 50 guests
